Moorhen

The moorhen, despite enjoyiong man-made habitats across the world, is a shy bird and moves quickly when alarmed. In the Pleasaunce, they often dive into the small chamber from the Moat under the Tudor Barn, into the foliage or under the low wooden bridge into the woodland glen.

SONG

They raise five or more young in the spring and summer, the young flying off to seek territories elsewhere. The birds can be aggressive towards each other in maintaining terriroties.
